The Argyle
Since its founding in 1874, The Argyle has remained steadfast in its core mission to uphold dignity through compassionate care, meaningful human interaction, and nurturing support. This mission is brought to life by a devoted team of staff, board members, volunteers, and partners, all dedicated to enhancing the independence and dignity of each resident. The team is skilled in addressing the unique challenges of aging, providing assistance that empowers residents to lead rich and satisfying lives.
Originally established as The Old Ladies Home in downtown Denver in 1875 by philanthropists, The Argyle was conceived as a retirement community open to all, irrespective of financial means. By 1900, the facility relocated to the Berkeley/Highlands area, adopting the name The Argyle to reflect its new setting. Despite undergoing renovations and constructing a new building in 1990, The Argyle has maintained its historical essence and cozy ambiance. The original facade has been preserved, and over 200 pieces of furniture and artwork have been restored, ensuring that The Argyle continues to be a beloved and welcoming home for its residents.
